Fabled Hare Watercolor Paintings

This section features a collection of my watercolor paintings, "The Adventures of "The Fabled Hare"". Each painting is a part of an unfolding story based on the hare, my love of nature, folklore and myth. Many of the scenes are inspired by some of my favorite local Schoharie County NY landscapes and area attractions.

If you are interested in purchasing prints of any of these paintings please visit my Etsy Store at etsy.com/shop/fabledhare. Limited edition giclee prints will be available per special request. I am still sourcing a printer for giclee.

    Scho"Hare"ie Creek Series

The Schoharie Creek is a long river that runs through Schoharie County, NY. It is one of my favorite places to kayak with so many incredible views, nooks and crannies. This series depicts just a few of them with the added magic of mythical mermaids and swimming hare companions highlighting what's fun on the river.

    Vroman's "Nose" for Adventure Series

Vroman's Nose is an amazing landmark in Middleburgh, NY where I grew up. This is still one of my favorite hiking trails, with great views of the valley. This series is inspired by the magical sense of elation and adventure to see more I get when I'm up there. I tried to be relatively "true" to the views seen from separate Middleburgh vantage points.

    Myrtle Beach Series

This series is an observance of life on the resort beach when humans are absent. While the humans are away, the hares will play! Myrtle Beach was one of my favorite places to go when I lived in North Carolina. I still like to visit and collect source images while I'm there.

    Miscellaneous Series

This series is collection of random studies I like to make for fun or as a way to practice and experiment. They also tend to be more stand alone ideas and may eventually lead to being a part of another series down the road.

    Moon Gazer Series

This series is a laid back look at the relationship between the hare and the owl in their predator vs. prey roles. Warning signs are always afloat.

    Brook Trout Mermaid Series

This series combines some of my favorite local attractions with mythological creatures, adding magic to places that have always held a special, awe inspiring, natural magic for me. Inspired places include, locally titled, Crum's Falls and Fat Man's Hole in Schoharie County NY.

    Predator vs. Prey Series

This grouping of paintings were done together and explore the balance of the relationship between predator and prey. Since the hare is what I consider to be the animal that represents my personality, I wanted to explore "my" natural predator, in hopes that I learn more about the chosen people in my life, and what role we fit in together in this dynamic.
